O nline pre-registration remains open until approximately one week prior to competition. This year, pre-registration will close on 11pm February 20th, 2026. 

 

Same day/walk-in registration is also available starting at 10:30am on the day of the Bee.

Participants wishing to attend the tours should be signed in prior to 11:00am. Students wishing to participate in only the competition portion of the Iowa Brain Bee must be on-site and signed in by 1:00pm

Registering for the Iowa Brain Bee is free. Competition is open for high school students in grades 

9 - 12.
