2021 Iowa Brain Bee

The Brain Bee™ is a question and answer competition that tests the neuroscience knowledge of high school students (grades 9-12). Students compete to see who has the most knowledge on topics such as intelligence, memory, emotion, sensation, movement, stress, aging, sleep, addiction, Alzheimer's, and stroke. The Iowa Brain Bee also includes tours of neuroscience research facilities and the opportunity to interact with neuroscientists doing groundbreaking research at the University of Iowa. The 2020 national and international Brain Bee competitions were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 U.S. Brain Bee Championship will be held virtually on April 9-11. The 2021 World Brain Bee Championship will be held in August. The winner of the 2020 Iowa Brain Bee will represent our state at the 2021 U.S. Championship.
